A speeding getaway car slams into Susan Andrews' vehicle, transforming her humdrum life into a living hell. While reporting the accident, Susan learns that the driver of the car, Eddie Reeves, has just murdered three people during a bungled convenience store robbery. Convinced that she can help put Reeves away, Susan agrees to testify at his trial. Yet despite her testimony, Reeves is set free and begins to terrorise Susan. As his tactics become more threatening and personal, Susan snaps. Trying to rid herself of her persecutor, she buys a handgun. No longer unarmed and in danger, Susan is now armed and dangerous.
