Every 163 years, the time comes to find a new Santa Claus because according to the rules, he has to retire after 178 years of good and loyal service. 15 years before he leaves, the Christmas elves go out to find the ideal replacement: an orphan called Nicolas who has a good and pure heart. This is how Nicolas Barnsworth arrived at the North Pole from Australia. He has 15 years to get used to and learn the tricks of the "Santa Claus" trade, by learning how to get down the chimney flues or driving the sleigh! However, in Nicolas' eyes, the most important thing is the letters sent to Santa from children all over the world throughout the year. With Humphrey, the chief elf, Waldorf the reindeer and Rufus the little polar bear, they travel to help those in need.
