A new gameplay feature in AC Syndicate is the ability to switch freely between the two main characters ala Grand Theft Auto V . This will give the player more option than ever before since the twins both have different skills sets. Jacob Frye the male lead is more of a brawler and is best in close combat situations where as Evie relies on Stealth and her intellect to approach scenarios.
The Main weapons of the Assassins have changed from previous titles to better represent the Victorian era so now Brass knuckles, a compact revolver, a cane sword and a traditional Nepalese curved kukri knife are used. The combat is also much faster passed than previous titles with latency being cut by half.
New forms of transport are introduced in this game as well, such as a rope launcher which can be used to rappel up structures and create a zip line between buildings. For the first time in a Creed game carriages can be piloted and used to travel quickly across the city, the roof tops of these carriages can also be settings for roof top fights and parkour chases. Trains are used as fast travel options in the game to travel around the city of London which is approximately 30% larger than Paris in Unity, the city is made up of Six boroughs: Westminster, The Strand, The City of London, Whitechapel, Southwark and Lambeth. There will be no multiplayer modes in this game as the developers wanted to focus on creating a better single player experience than Unity which was plagued by some small bugs on release.
In 1868, at the tail end of the industrial revolution where the Assassin brotherhood is all but eradicated, Twins Jacob and Evie Frye leave their home town of Crawley for London a city almost entirely controlled by the Templars. It is a time of invention and prosperity, built on the backs of working class slaves. You must recruit your gang and fight for justice on behalf of the oppressed working class.
