I gave this game to my two nieces as a Christmas present, only one of them being much of a gamer, and it really hit it off with the both of them, demonstrating that this game has something to offer regardless of whether or not you are into the gaming hobby. In this game you work to take care of the Emperor's garden and the panda living in it. Each turn you roll a weather die to determine what happens at the beginning of your turn, then choose between adding bamboo crops to the garden, irrigating the crops, moving the gardener to grow bamboo, moving the panda to eat bamboo or drawing scoring cards. On your turn you may also choose to play scoring cards you have completed. There are three types of scoring cards, panda cards that requires you to eat bamboo of specific colours, gardener cards that requires bamboo stocks of specific colours to grow to a specific height, and emperor cards that requires the bamboo crops to be placed in a specific pattern. The game appealed to my gamer niece because of its strategy of the scoring cards, while to my non-gamer niese because of the colourful figures, tiles and bamboo tokens and the few and simple choices of actions. And it appealed to me as an adult because it was a game that I could just as easily play with other adults as I could with kids. This is a terrific family game. I highly recommend it.
