This can work well with children of around 7 or 8. I like it because it gets children thinking in a programming sort of fashion, a bit like the tower of hanoi problem. The blocks are chunky wood, which is nice. But there's really not much to the gameplay. I've bought a sandtimer for it so that we can also do a time-trial style game - who can get the most done in a certain time. That also allows for solitaire play.
