I personally preferred the original Alien & Predator franchise.AVP is not really bad it had its moments. The movie begins When the The Weyland Corporation discovered a pyramid with its satellites in Antarctica. Flight chief is Charles Bishop Weyland (Lance Henriksen), a team of archaeologists and drills that will be led by the climber Alexa Woods (Sanaa Lathan). Arrived in Antarctica (where it is quite dark in October by the way ...), it notes that someone was already there and dug a tunnel to the pyramid (which is not our brave researchers disincentive to use this). The tunnel is from a group of young predators that want to blow up the pyramid aliens to prove their skills (luckily, the researchers just arrived and there are enough host body for the alien)

When an Alien Predator cross over was announced, fans of both series went wild in speculation as to what could happen, and how it would work. It was also obviously going to happen one day, due to an alien skull being seen in the trophy case during Predator 2. This is the result: an enjoyable outing, but not quite with the style or panache as the original Alien nor Predator movies. Set in present time (rather than the future) a company called Weyland (fans will recognise the name) finds a discreetly hidden pyramid underneath the Antarctica. What follows is a series of fights, deaths and cringe-worthy moments as the crew of the company try and survive an onslaught of Aliens % Predators. Whilst the fight scenes between the extraterrestrial creatures are good, the film does disappoint slightly after the amount of hype and speculation it received. Still well worth a watch though - Damn that queens big!
