Quadropolis is a fun tile-layer with a spatial challenge where the engineer you use limits where you can place a specific tile. It's fun, but maybe a little bit samey? Still an entertaining puzzle overall. Not very conflict-heavy, everyone is just doing their own thing. I appreciate it, but would like to try expert mode (I think harbors are a little overpowered in basic) and also think Ginkgopolis will prove to be the better game long-term.

A good, solid city builder game! As its a Days of Wonder game, as expected the components are fantastic. The rules are easy to follow, its easy to learn. But if you want more depth and complexity, there is definitely room for more tactical and strategic play. Also, the game plays quickly and so you'll definitely play a few rounds when you bring this out. There are two different play modes, classic and expert. I find that classic is mostly for younger or new players. For me, I'll always prefer expert mode as it is just more of the game to me. Good game.

A friend of mine got this recently. It was a surprise to find so much game in one box. We never even started on the advanced game. The tile selection and construction marker placement mechanism is the most unique thing, but the limited actions and placements you have based on the construction marker you use force you to adapt to your board and other player's choices. I can't wait to try the more advanced game.

A game about building a city. The game is mostly a puzzle of how to best incorporate different types of buildings onto your board which represents your town. Maybe it doesn't sound too interesting at first, but different mechanics make up for it, and it's mostly tied to the architects mechanic. The choice of the arhitect is vital for your victory. It's a battle of wits who will first take the best buildings from the construction site and find a perfect place for them on your board. Great game, and if you ever get bored with the classic version, you can try the expert mode which offers even more cha
