Amazing strategy game, with a simple mechanism. Want to play again and again! Good game for begginers very easy to play and addictive. It's a very good filler but a little bit expensive, with lots of air inside the box. However, its art design is beautiful. I looking for expansions. Great game :)

Splendor is somewhat divisive. Some consider it a great fast game about collecting gems and influence. Others (like me) believe that is a mechanism without theme. In either case, I leave you 3 considerations: 1 Works really well, 2 Is fast and it doesen´t get encumbered by ap (much), 3 Many, many people really like it. And this year (2017) it will get a modular expansion. So, It´s your decision now.

A unique concept that makes a very interesting card game, you play as a gem merchant building your empire, purchasing mines, enticing nobles, amassing your wealth on the way to victory. It is easy to learn, after the first round on teaching a new player to play, they will always want to play it again for sure!

The game is incredibly smooth. The mechanics are very simple, but i feel there's no shortage of strategy here. You need to keep an eye on all three rows of cards and the Patron tiles to formulate a path to victory and that can be tricky as cards are constantly being bought and refreshed.. This game never bogs down. Even my wife, who is a big Analysis Paralysis during strategy games, was able to keep her turns moving quickly. We also have found this game to be well balanced. We have usually ended our 2P games within 1 - 3 victory points of each other. I highly recomend!

Splendor is a near perfect game. With an option of one of three actions, you play fast and furious. There is no single path to victory; you can collect nobles or ignore them and spearhead your victory with a dazzling combo of high value cards. I once won a three player game of Splendor with six cards in my tableau and a 15 point score. The game is balanced for two, three, and four, and it makes for a perfect couple(s) game.

What a great game! It's easy to teach with not so much going on that new players feel lost... but enough options and implications to keep seasoned players interested and focused. The art is excellent and the 'poker chips' are a fun way to keep track of resources. I've yet to introduce this to someone who wasn't immediately ready for another game.

Wow ...this is a fantastic board game. I played it with my children (7 and 10) and we love it. The rules are clear and simple, just a brilliant game. The game arrived after just 2 days of placing the order. If you love board games you should have this in your collection .

Splendor is a quick play (30 or so minutes), easy set up card building game. The game revolves around a theme of collecting gems and building your wealth. With some excellent poker type pieces and great card art, the game is well worth the reasonable price. I have played it with ages 10 to adult with no problems. The rules are simplicity itself. I think this is a winner if like my wife you love card games like solitaire type mechanisms. It plays up to 4 players but I actually feel its at its most competative as a two player game. The theme is not heavily felt in the play itself but as a quick filler it hits the spot.
