This game is massive; it's truly eye-wateringly pretty and the creatures on the planet Mira are inventive and staggering in size and ferocity; catch the eye of the wrong creature - especially a titan - and prepare to have your squad wiped out in an instant. There's plenty of customisation for your squad and characters; plus if you don't like the appearance of your high-stat equipment, no problem, you can choose cool-looking stuff to be displayed instead.
If you get the disk version but have plenty of storage space like an external HDD attached hit the eshop and download the additional data packs; they reduce loading times noticeably. Roaming across the planet is seamless - its a great game for just exploring cool bits of the landscape; I swam from one continent to another just for fun!
It's not perfect; the music can get a bit repetitive; it does change depending on the location, situation and so on but be ready to listen to hours of the same tune on a loop. There are difficulty spikes; chapter four got way harder than chapter three for example. It's possible to play off-tv but gets slightly clunky - I can't hog the TV all night ;) There's plenty of cut scenes which can be a bit lengthy but are nicely done; be prepared to click through plenty of storyline when you accept a mission.
It's good overall, well worth adding to a WiiU library.
