Does AS bring anything new to the table compared to the original trilogy, not really. Visually it's better, the setting is breath-taking and the cast is very likeable (Andrew Garfield is a lot closer to Spider-Man than Tobey Maquire). It seems to take itself far too seriously but is still a highly watchable film with an average storyline laced with impressive set pieces and action scenes. Throw in some genuine chemistry between the two young leads, some impressive 3D Blu Ray and an extra Disc of the usually bonus features (including some very impressive making of features). It may not be quite Amazing but it's pretty good and will be watched again and again (even if just for Emma Stone's lovely turn as Gwen Stacy).
