This is a film with some unexpected depth. Great to see Michael Keaton stretch himself as an actor which we haven't seen for some time. This film is very much character driven, there is not much to the plot or the events but it is immersive. In fact, each of the main characters draws the viewer in just enough to feel for them but not enough to know them completely. Despite some superhero themes I would say it's actually difficult for most of the film to decide who is the hero, anti-hero or villain. Very meaty roles all round, multidimensional characters and acting, it is well written. There is a strong injection of surrealism throughout the film and this combined with the performance means it is worthy of at least 2 or 3 viewings to really get the most out of it.
