A fantastic RPG by Alessio Cavatore (who you may also remember as the mind behind Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings miniatures game rules) set in the world of My Little Pony. A glossy, 150 page, full colour hardback book covers the rules, an introduction to Equestria and Pony society, and some sample creatures to encounter. The rules are fairly simple, but certainly not written for simpletons. Much like the MLP cartoon, the language doesn't assume you only have a single-syllable vocabulary, and this game and rulebook are certainly as suitable for adults as they are for children. The rules allow you to play any of the three normal pony types - Earth Pony, Pegasus, and Unicorn. Alicorn and Zebra do get a mention, but are only suitable for NPCs at the moment (who knows what future expansions could bring, though!) There's everything else you might expect from an RPG corebook, such as talents, quirks, equipment (including the obvious one - barding!), experience, and - yes - there are even rules for combat - or rather, "scuffles". A sample adventure rounds off the rulebook and leads neatly into the first published adventure - The Curse of the Statuettes (also available from 365games.co.uk! ) If I had one complaint it would be that the bestiary section could use a few more pages, but they do promise a separate bestiary book later on in the line.
