Escape: The Curse of the Temple is a cooperative game in which players must escape (yes...) from a temple (yes...) which is cursed (yes...) before the temple collapses and kills one or more explorers, thereby causing everyone to lose. The game is played in real-time, with all players rolling dice and taking actions simultaneously. The real-time aspect is enforced by a soundtrack to be played during the game. At certain points, a countdown starts, and if players aren't back in the 'safe room' when time is up, they lose one of their dice. Escape: The Curse of the Temple includes two expansion modules, Treasures and Curses that can be used individually or together, increasing strategic gameplay value.

I think this is a fantastic game. I'll deal with what I suspect is the most controversial point first: the soundtrack. Yes, the game comes with a soundtrack (freely downloadable online, but also comes with a CD). But you do not need the soundtrack to play the game. It comes with a sand timer, and the gameplay runs identical to using the soundtrack. So if you don't like that noise element to the game, then remove it and just use the sand timer.
The components are thick, sturdy, and good quality. The box is great, although the inlay could be better laid out so that it better fits the tiles. I really feel the theme coming through in this game, which for me is important. And it plays great as a collaborative game and as a solitaire game

Escape is a full-out "fun frenzy" tiles game.
The material of the game is excellent. there is even a soundtrack-cd with additional quick-start information and rules so while you setup the game the new-ones can settle in with the rules.
As there are immediately two versions of the game at hand the replay value is extremely high.
As you start with the "easy version" you get hooked. during the game everyone is shouting and helping. Rushing to the aid of the companion and saving his buttox.
And when you get better you just take out the "coursed" version of the tiles and an even harder exploration begins.
Almost everyone can get into this game because it is IndianaJones-feeling at its best.
there is an expansion coming up in March and there are 2 mini promo's out already.
This game is seryously worth your penny and time.
And the most precious: it only takes 10min every time.
And thus gets replayed quite often on a game-evening
