A really cute and easy game! Putting together sushi combinations is always fun. The illustrations are really cute, the rules are uncomplicated, the cards are rotating among the participants and you never have to wait for your turn. The dependence of the players on each other makes the game special . The perfect game to end a long game evening when you're already exhausted!
Sushi Go! is a real quick and easy card drafting game (my favorite game mechanic). There are 3 rounds of the game, each round your just choosing one card, and all players reveal their chosen cards (trying to build sets to score points) at the same time and pass their hands along until all cards are played, then you score, discard, and repeat. Then whoever has the most points in the end wins. This is one of the lightest drafting games that I have played. It is so quick and simple yet still entertaining, perfect as a short filler game or as a gateway game!
Really fun and simple drafting game. In this game every player gets a hand of cards (depicting sushi dishes) and each turn they have to pick one of the cards and pass the rest to the player sitting next to them. Then everyone reveals which card they picked before picking a card from their new hand of cards. This continues until all cards have been picked and you tall up points. Each dish have their own different way of scoring. For maki rolls you have to have the most or the second most in order to get any points at all. For tempuras you have to have a set of two to get points, for sashimi you need to have a set of three. Nigiris score between 1 and 3 points depending on type, but if you manage to play a wasabi and later in the same round play a nigiri you triple the score of the nigiri. Dumplings score more points the more of them you manage to collect. And whoever has the most puddings at the end of three rounds is awarded 6 bonus points, however if you have the least puddings you lose 6 points. It may sound complicated, but it is dead simple and the cards are really straightforward. You can play this game with kids or with other adults with no problem, and it's a great way to introduce drafting as a game mechanic to new players.
