Hanabi—named for the Japanese word for "fireworks" and consisting of the ideograms "Flower" and "Fire"—is a cooperative game in which players try to create the perfect fireworks show by placing the cards on the table in the right order.
The card deck consists of five different colors of cards, numbered 1–5 in each color. For each color, the players try to place a row in the correct order from 1–5. Sounds easy, right? Well, not quite, as in this game you hold your cards so that they're visible only to other players. To assist other players in playing a card, you must give them hints regarding the numbers or the colors of their cards. Players must act as a team to avoid errors and to finish the fireworks display before they run out of cards.

Hanabi is a short and sweet(?!) co-operative card game, with a very interesting mechanic in that you cannot see your own hand.
The game rewards good teamwork and deduction skills; something that may not come easily on your first play of the game. However on subsequent playthroughs you will find yourself shamelessly high-fiving your teammates when - after all the induced stress - you manage to put together an awesome firework display!
Hanabi is a surprisingly deep and strategic game, and a great way to start off your game night.

This game really is something special. It's so easy to learn but not trivial to play and works incredibly well with family, kids, but also for a cutthroat game for a gaming group that's very challenging (especially with the bonus cards). I personally would definitely recommend it! It's a very unique experience. You owe it to yourself to try it at the very least.

Hanabi is an awesome little co-operative game. The basis of the game is that you are all fire work technicians trying to put on a show, but all your fireworks get jumbled up. so the deck is made out of 5 colors with cards numbered 1-5 in each, your goal is to get a chain of cards 1-5 in each color to get the max score. However the interesting part is that, when cards are dealt to players, they hold them so that they can only see the backs of cards, and must rely on hints given by other players to know what to play. You only get a limited amount of mistakes possible so you have to be careful. Hanabi is a simple fun game that takes a while to get good at as you try to beat previous high scores. I think it is a great game for a quiet afternoon with some friends!
