There is not very much strategy involved, but there is still some thinking towards the end of the game, where some decisions can bring you the victory. The tiles look beautiful with some detailed illustrations, which in the end makes the finished landscape, that all players together create, look awesome.
Another great game that has been around for a long time! This is one of the first few games that really got me hooked on the hobby. Carcassonne is a great light tile-laying game that is easy to teach, and is perfect gateway game or filler game. It gives a fun, puzzle like feel and has lots of replay value as each game will be different because of the random tile drawing. It provides for both relaxing casual games and more strategy when you feel more competitive. The works pretty well at all player counts, but is really awesome as a 2 player game.
This is a great tile placement game. Each turn, the player picks up a tile, place it and then may put a meeple on it to control an area. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is not used to playing board games and also to more experienced players. I have played this game several times and still have a lot of fun.
Named after a town in France Carcassonne is simple euro game that involves worker and tile placement. It is a very basic introduction to the category of board games and is easy to teach non-gamers. There a lot of factors to take into consideration when playing through this one and provides a varying complexity depending on the number of people playing. Makes for a great two player game too.
A clasic, well made, really solid game, in it´s new version. More colour, the best expansions and a gateway game that will make everyone fall in love with the hobby. This was my first modern game, and the tiling mechanic a complete innovation at the time (at least for me). A Must have in my opinion. Good for families, friends and serious BG collectors.
