This one is much more challenging and exciting than Forbidden Island. We only managed to win this once, and it was one move from loosing. This makes so tight and rush experience for a group game. Every role has a huge impact on the game, so everyone can feel necessary and involved. A quick play which leaves great satisfaction of accomplishment when winning.
Great co-operative game with an amazing theme that really draws you in. The model airship is really cool, and the tiles shifting feels very true to being stranded in a desert with a raging sandstorm. If you like Pandemic, or if you've had your eye on Pandemic but feel it is a little overwhelming, give this one a go.
I love this game. I can play this with people who have never played board games, and I can play it with gaming aficionados. This game is essentially Flight of the Phoenix in a box. And an attractive box with a good insert, at that. The theme really comes through in the mechanics - you feel like you're hunting through a desert and constantly struggling to survive. It's a coop game, but because each person has their own special ability it's not just the case that you're going along for the ride while someone tells everyone what to do. You can choose to do things that others couldn't possibly do - like predict the weather, or help people keep their canteens filled with water, or excavate areas quicker. If you're playing with people who haven't played games before, you might opt for party games. Well if you want to bring those people towards a strategy game, I think this should be your first go with them
