Kingdom Builder (KB) just nails it.
The game has a high replay value. For people who love strategy and luck-driven prosperity games.
The rules are pretty easy and self explanatory in the different setups for this game.
Allthough there are no interlocking tiles, "the board of 4 tiles" presents itself always in a new layout with additional tiles waiting in the original version and the expansion.
For a family, two couples or 4-friends game of strategists this is much fun. Allthough you interact only in messing up the other ones startegy, gameflow is pretty quick and the planning of the others (and especially your own as it is their turn) never gets you bored waiting.
There is so much to find on the map - on how to build your setlements and get most points out of it. And yet it all comes down to maybe an hour or less.
In one evening this may really get a second go on the table.
The cardboard is pretty good quality and your wooden huts have just the right size.
KD plays very well, takes almost no time to add and count up all your achievements and it is amazingly well balanced as you will find out as your points sum up.
For in the game you might think you lost it. But if you stick to your plan (if it was a good one according to the each game changing additional points-rules) you might just have done better than you thought.
And no...not all reveals itself in the end. You constantly know where everyone is pointswise.
