Tzolkin: The Mayan Calendar presents a new game mechanism: dynamic worker placement. Players representing different Mayan tribes place their workers on giant connected gears, and as the gears rotate they take the workers to different action spots.
During a turn, players can either (a) place one or more workers on the lowest visible spot of the gears or (b) pick up one or more workers. When placing workers, they must pay corn, which is used as a currency in the game. When they pick up a worker, they perform certain actions depending on the position of the worker. Actions located "later" on the gears are more valuable, so it's wise to let the time work for you – but players cannot skip their turn; if they have all their workers on the gears, they have to pick some up.
The game ends after one full revolution of the central Tzolkin gear. There are many paths to victory. Pleasing the gods by placing crystal skulls in deep caves or building many temples are just two of those many paths...

Excellent game from the Italian school (authors Simone Luciani and Daniele Tascini). The main mechanics is the placement of workers, in our turn and we place or remove them. But what most distinguishes this game are the gears!! In them we must plan in the long term. Corn is the currency of payment for workers. The interaction is indirect. The game works perfectly for any number of players. It also has great replayability (starting tiles, monuments, buildings). It is an easy juice to learn but difficult to master.
I love the setting, think the gear mechanic is excellent, and have no trouble remembering why I wanted the game. Unfortunately, it’s over-complicated in comparison to games of equal complexity, it’s too easy to make disasterous mistakes if you’re not experienced, without much of a catch-up mechanic, and in the end it never felt interesting playing it.
Cool strategy game. Everything delivered in time and in a good condition. The only problem, that I don't get stickers in my box. But probably it's a game packers issue, not 365 games.
very good strategy game of worker placement. the gear mechanism to count time is great and change the game way of thinking a lot. tends to be long with new players at first but after you get used to it it will be played for less then 30 min per player.(playing with a watch is recommended any way) overall a great game for hardcore strategy gamers!
